Student Council
What is the Student Council?
Since ISHR's birth almost every year has there been a functioning student council. The student council is a group of students from different grades that come together to discuss issues of importance or problems affecting several students in the school community. Generally, two representatives are elected from each homeroom. During their own time these students meet once and sometimes twice a week to support students, or organize entertaining events. A position as a class representative is a very rewarding job as it serves a large amount of people and helps the well-being of the student body.
Not only can students be representatives but they are also allowed to take on extra responsibilities within this council. Among these are:
- Secretary
- Vice-President
- Entertainment Officer
- Treasurer
It is a custom that the president does not have to be a already existing representative but can be a student running for this position on his own. At the comencement of every school year, a new president is elected by all the students.
Primary and Secondary student councils are held seperately, as this would otherwise be very difficult to manage.
For a list of the current Secondary Student Council Representatives please refer to the seperate section in our log-in area.
