Conditions of Acceptance
A child will only be admitted to ISHR if a place in the appropriate class is available. As a rule of thumb, class sizes should not exceed 18 in Early Years, 20 in Primary and 22 in Secondary. Exceptions may be made for overseas students joining ISHR mid year, for whom there is no alternative.
Children of local families who cannot speak and read in English are not admitted to Grades one and two.
All applications will only be processed upon receipt of report cards from previous schools.
Local children from Grades three to five are required to complete placement tests in Maths, English and German (where applicable). All children from Grade six onwards are required to complete placement tests.
In general, the school cannot offer programs for children with significant learning disabilities who require specialist teachers, those who have behavioural or emotional difficulties or those local children who have been unsuccessful in other institutions and simply want to try an alternative. The school reserves the right to refuse admission to any child we feel would be unable to benefit from the curriculum.
