Welcome from the Director
Welcome to our ISHR homepage. We hope that it will give you an informed and enjoyable insight into what we offer our students both academically and socially.
The International School Hannover Region was founded in 1996 to serve the needs of a growing international community in Hanover and its surrounding region. Since then we have grown from 72 students to over 500, from more than 30 different nationalities, taught by a highly qualified and dedicated international faculty.
Rigorous academic curricula, based on the International Baccalaureate Primary Years, Middle Years and Diploma Programmes not only prepare our students for success at universities worldwide, but also promote enquiry based learning, critical thinking and international respect and understanding within a caring, nurturing and safe environment.
We value the student as an individual and are committed to preparing young people for a life as responsible citizens and life-long thinkers and learners. We sincerely believe that learning within a culturally and linguistically rich environment, which emphasises empathy, open mindedness and respect for others will enable our students to "make a difference" and create a better, more sustainable future.
Our school is situated in the heart of Hanover, next to the lake and only minutes from the old town. We are truly proud of our green and leafy campus, with its well furnished classrooms, modern science and computer labs, and well stocked library, as well as excellent music, art and sports facilities.
If you like what you see on our website, we'd be delighted to show you around our school in person.
With best regards
Patricia Baier
